Abstract

Toni Morrison's writing opens conversation with different artists who work to pursue the responsibility humans have in worldbuilding and justice work. Through the combination of personal reflection, Mary's Magnificat, Amanda Gorman, and James Baldwin we see the connections that thread them all together in Morrison's work. The call of these artists is to pursue radical honesty, truth, and community through their sacred works of art, and asks that we, as readers, take our art and stories seriously.
