Abstract
This paper is a tentative description of several processes of complex sentence building in Bahasa Malaysia. Described are several types of embedding and conjoining, and some transformational rules are proposed whereby these are accomplished. Informants for the study were Miss Noraini Aziz of Kuala Selangor (Selangor State) and Miss Latifah Abdol Lati, of Alor Gajah (Malacca State).
