About the Journal
La Revue des Inventions Théâtrales Africaines (RITA) is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal that focuses on theatrical creation across a range of African and diasporic contexts. The journal publishes academic articles, reflection pieces on African theatre, and contributions of all kinds by scholars, authors, performers and artists, as well as cultural workers.
RITA was created by the founding members of the Atelier de Recherche sur L'Invention Théâtrale en Afrique Francophone (ARIT-AF). It has an international board of scholars and artists who work across a range of geographic, linguistic and cultural contexts.
RITA was supported, in part, by a grant from the Center for African and African American Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder.
