As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The journal does not require submissions to conform to a specific citation style or formatting at time of submission as long as its internally consistent. If accepted for publication the author(s) will be asked to update the manuscript to conform to the journal's citation style and formatting.
  • The manuscript is part of a current call for papers. Mention which call for papers you are submitting to in Comments to the Editor during the submission process.

If accepted for publication, the journal style guide must be followed.

The journal accepts four types of manuscripts. Except for book reviews, manuscripts must be part of an active call for papers.

Book Review

Book review of published academic book. Word count limit 1,000.

Research Article

Traditional research article. Tests the empirical implications of theoretical models using either quantitative or qualitative data. Word count limit 4,000-10,000.

Descriptive Research Article

Description of quantitative or qualitative data. Does not test empirical implications of theoretical models. Word count limit 4,000-10,000.

Research Note

Brief report of an original study or a replication of an existing study. Word count limit 4,000.
